The Arabian Retreat is a small friendly hotel situated in serene environment admist greenery and pleasant surroundings.

It is only 200 metres from Calangute Beach and within easy walking distance of 14 restaurants.

The 12 spacious two room apartments on two levels are well appointed. Both rooms have ceiling fans. Air conditioned apartments are also available. All 1st floor apartments have two balconies.

The ground floor apartments have one balcony and access to rear patio.

The bedroom complete, with en-suite shower/WC, has a king sized bed, wardrobe and plenty storage space. Bed linen and towels are changed every second day.

Satellite Television and additional beds are available by arrangement. The kitchen/lounge has a table, chairs, refrigerator, sink and comfortable seats for four.

The Arabian Retreat is situated on the beaches of Calangute. It is an hour’s drive away from the International Terminal at Dabolim. Airport Transfers are available for your convienience. The nearest railway station is Tivim. Regular Trains travelling from Mumbai, Delhi and Kochi halt at this station. From here, you can avail of the taxi service to the Arabian Retreat at Gauravaddo Calangute. If you are travelling by bus, then halt at the Holiday Street junction, and walk towards the beach.

We are located ten minutes away from Baga Beach and the bustling Baga-Calangute tourist stretch. Panjim and the Latin Quarter are approximately 25 mins drive and Old Goa 40 mins. The airport is an hour away and Tivim Station 30 mins. The beaches of South Goa are an hour and a half away.

YOUR HOSTS:
We, Jamshed and Ayesha are your hosts at Capella. Much like everything else in our lives, our home has evolved out of a string of happy coincidences. Fourteen years ago we opened the first specialty Italian restaurant in Goa. Today, J&A’s Ristorante Italiano is still the best in the business. Not one to remain without a ‘project’ for long, Jammy decided to design and build a house and carve out a wee bit of paradise for friends and family to share. That didn’t take long . Even before the house was complete we were inundated with relatives and guests who loved the place and what we had done with it. It seemed only natural that we decided to open our home to guests from across the world to give them an experience of Goa they can treasure forever.

THE STAFF:
Daisy is our smiling cook /housekeeper. She is the person who keeps Capella looking warm and welcoming. She has a great flair for home decoration and is responsible for the fresh flowers in the vases, the arrangement of your room and making sure you have fresh linen and towels. She makes a mean prawn curry and if you decide to eat in at lunch you will probable be served the same with Goa red rice and local vegetables. Fish steaks in red or green masala with yellow dal and rice and parsi potatoes is another super-delicious combination and a Capella staple. We don’t normally do dinner but if you are down with a case of Goa-belly and can’t face the thought of restaurant food, she could be persuaded to rustle up her famous pishpash (soupy rice with chicken and veggies). Its comfort food at its best! Like the best of us, Daisy has her days, so if one morning you find J or A bringing you breakfast then you know not to ask why!

Surinder is gardener, maintenance in-charge and general factotum who makes sure Capella chugs along more or less effectively. He makes sure the water is pumped up daily so your taps don’t run dry. He will carry your bags, fetch you cigarettes if you run out and given a chance, will practice his English on you.

Geeta has joined us recently and helps Daisy with the housekeeping.
